Beer Review: To Øl Yule Mælk

IMG_9971_crop

I started drinking this beer from To Øl without reading the ABV, once I had a taste and realized how lovely and rich it was, I had a look and saw it was a whopping 15%! This Oak Aged Imperial Sweet Stout is aged in Sherry and Cognaq and would be perfect sitting around the Yule log, hence the name of the beer.

The nose is a very sweet owing to the ageing an the high ABV. This leads to a creamy sweet malty flavor with fruity notes. The finish is a thick sweet malt with those underlying fruit notes. The head is a thick brown which dissipates quickly. It leaves a nice warm feeling that will do well for a cold Christmas Eve or Night, or just a cold night in general.
